Empowering BIPOC Artpreneurs to Transform Communities
Founded in July 2024, at The Foundation for the Flourishment of African and Latin Ancestry [Artpreneurs] Communities in Canada (FALAC), we are dedicated to empowering artists and creatives from underrepresented communities to thrive in their craft and elevate their careers. Our mission is to provide the resources, platforms, guidance, connections and networks that Artpreneurs need to turn their passion into a sustainable livelihood, thereby fostering cultural growth and economic empowerment within their communities.
How do we Catalyze Success and Sustainable Growth for BIPOC Artpreneurs in Alberta, Canada?
We empower BIPOC Artpreneurs—especially those from African, Black, Caribbean, Latin, and Indigenous communities—by offering tailored resources, guidance, and innovative programs. Through a blend of showcasing platforms, technological innovation, and strategic networking, we provide the tools and opportunities that artists and creatives need to thrive. Our initiatives are designed not only to elevate individual careers but also to foster unity, collaborations, networking and cultural enrichment within the broader community, creating a vibrant and supportive ecosystem for success.
The Afro x Latin Arts Carnival: Saturday, September 7th
Taking place for its first time on Saturday, Setember 7th, The Afro x Latin Arts Carniva is a vibrant celebration of African and Latin cultures, this carnival is a showcase of art, music, dance, and performance that brings communities together. It’s more than just a festival—it’s a platform for Artpreneurs to display their talents, engage with diverse audiences, and connect with other creatives and industry professionals. Through this event, we create spaces where culture and creativity thrive.
The BIPOC ArT-ech-Preneur Summit: Sunday, September 8th
This annual gathering is where innovation meets creativity. We bring together BIPOC artists, technologists, and entrepreneurs for a summit that features hands-on workshops, inspiring keynotes, and valuable networking opportunities. Our goal is to equip participants with the skills and insights they need to harness technology in their artistic pursuits, paving the way for new opportunities and collaborations.
